CITRUS OF SICILY
Oranges
Our citrus fruits production is based by three mains varieties of oranges:
- Washington Navel
- Navelina
- Vaniglia
The maturation period of oranges is from december to march.
Mandarins
We have two different varieties of mandarins: Clementines and Late Mandarins. The first are present in the period from mid-november to mid-january, while the second from january to march.
Lemon and Cedars
The lemon varieties of Terrecosta farm are: Femminello and Lunario. The lemons harvest, differently from the others varieties of citrus fruits, are carried out all the year. But, cedars have a different period of harvest which is from december to march.
Hand-picked harvest
We collect our citrus fruits by cutting the stalk with the leaves because the twigs could damage the citrus fruits and cause them to rot during transport. The presence of the leaves could lead a lower shelf life since it could lead to an early drying of the fruits, due to the greater loss of water that occurs starting from the leaves themselves.
We package them with care
After harvest, citrus fruit are delicately placed in crates or in well nventilated boxes to prevent them from suffering traumas that alter their organoleptic and nutraceutical qualities. In addition, the perforated boxes favor the aeration of the citrus fruits themselves, a fundamental element for their good conservation during the hours of transport.

We offer various purchase solutions for Terrecosta citrus fruits. The oranges are sold in boxes of 10 kg, 16 kg and 23 kg. Mandarins, clementines, lemons and cedars are available in small nets of 3 kg and 5 kg or in boxes of 10 kg and 16 kg. Terrecosta also gives you the opportunity to compose your own package.
